Miniature stainless steel folding knife with mirror polished, clip-point blade for Every Day Carry. Hard, cutlery-grade steel. Measures ¾ inches when folded and 1 ¼ inches unfolded. Produced in Italy since 1948. (
Don’t let its diminutive size fool you – the stainless steel of this miniature knife is graded 420 by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), deeming the tiny, half-inch-long blade to be cutlery-level durable. Wear it on a chain around your neck or keep it on your keychain as part of your Every Day Carry.
The miniature knife is produced and designed by an Italian company with over half a century of experience in producing knives for the military, as well as for hunting, fishing, camping and cooking.
Raw stainless steel is cut with a laser machine in Maniago, Italy, a city renowned for steel blade production since the medieval period. A grinding machine abrades the steel into sharp blades. Several artisans are involved in the process of making and assembling the knife.
Pull out the blade when you are ready to use your knife. Fold blade back into handle when not in use.
Clean knife by applying an industrial lubricant or oil and scrubbing crevices with a toothbrush.
Do not use the cutting blade as a can opener, chisel, pry bar, screwdriver or for any heavy work for which your knife was not designed. Also, don't use the back of your knife as a hammer. It may break the springs, handles or pin.
Remember to keep your knife sharpened: a dull blade can be more dangerous than a properly maintained one.
Manufactured in Maniago, Italy, this folding knife comes from a history of steel blade production reaching back to the medieval 1500s. Due to their proximity to Venice, the old blacksmiths of Maniago were permitted to use the streams to cool and cut their steel during tool production.
The family business that designed and created this folding knife launched in 1960. Its patriarch, Fervido Maserin, began working in a factory that produced knives, scissors and other tools for agriculture at the age of 14, in the 1930s. Taking his many years of experience, he began his own line of products, which now includes knives for military, outdoor, hunting and personal use. In the 1990s, the company began creating smaller 1- and 2-inch knives as well as miniature, functioning collectibles about ½-inch in length, earning the business a spot in the Miniature Knifemakers Society.
