Modern and minimalist pewter tankard with a one-pint capacity. Bright, polished finish on both the interior and exterior. Ideal for engraving. Made in Sheffield, England, a center for pewter production, since 1949. (
Enjoy your beer, ale or hot toddy the old fashioned way with this one-pint pewter tankard from Wentworth. The Imperial Tankard design dates from the late 1800s, in spite of its very clean, modern look. This particular tankard was one of the original pieces pewtersmith Arthur Richard Wentworth made himself when he began his smithery in 1949. The clean, straight lines of the body are accented with a gently curved, C-shaped handle. Made from English pewter, the tankard is comprised of pewter and tin, and trace metals for strength. Tin is a metal favored for food and drink because of its low toxicity. A bright, polished surface on both the interior and exterior of the tankard add an extra special gleam to your beverage, so imbibing even a basic brew becomes an affair worthy of a royal court.
Hand wash with soap and hot water and dry with a soft cloth. Do not put this tankard in the dishwasher.
Pewter will keep its shine with minimal maintenance. It doesn't tarnish like silver, but if the tankard does start to dull, rub it with a bit of standard metal polish using straight line strokes (not circular).
