Spun pewter napkin rings in a bright polished finish. Comes as a set of 4 napkin rings. Ideal for engraving. Made in Sheffield, England, a center for pewter production, since 1949. (
Use this large, round pewter tray to serve hors d'oeuvres or organize your bar cart. The bright polished finish of this minimal, yet elegant tray adds an understated luxury to any party or table setting. The tray is created in a process called metal spinning. Pieces of pewter are spun and turned on a lathe at high speeds. A forming block pushes against the material as it spins to create symmetrical, round and tubular items.
Wentworth pewter company makes this elegant tray. Founded in 1949 by accomplished pewtersmith Arthur Richard Wentworth, the workshops are still active in the traditional steel-producing city of Sheffield, England. Each tray is made from English pewter, which holds itself to the material guidelines set out by the European Committee for Standardization, the tray is 92% tin. In order to be properly called pewter, tin values must reach at least 85%. The metal’s malleability requires the production of pewter to include other metals, such as antimony or copper.
Hand wash with soap and hot water and dry with a soft cloth. Do not put these napkin rings in the dishwasher.
Pewter will keep its shine with minimal maintenance. It doesn't tarnish like silver, but if the napkin rings do start to dull, rub it with a bit of standard metal polish using straight line strokes (not circular).
