Compact and lightweight solid brass pen with stainless steel writing nib. Refillable with short international standard ink cartridges. Untreated, uncoated brass will gain a distinctive patina over time. Made in Germany since 1883. (
Milled from solid untreated brass by the Kaweco company, this compact pen is no lightweight—weighing in at 0.84 ounces, while the average pen measures at 0.6 ounces. Its untreated finish means that this pen will wear over time and develop a patina distinctive to your writing hand. The small but substantial pen comes with a stainless steel nib, and is refillable with short international standard cartridges.
Because this pen is made from solid, untreated and uncoated brass, it will develop a patina individual to you over time. If you choose to restore the original finish, you may rub in a brass polish with a soft cloth.
Originally started as a dip pen factory in 1883 by Luce and Ensslen in Heidelberg, Germany, Kaweco has evolved with writing technology and persevered through many decades in their attempt to contribute useful, elegant and lasting pieces to the writing world.
The company continued to produce pens even during metal-scarce World War I—their pens were considered important to the administrative aspects of the war effort. In 1913, they launched their now famous “Sport-series.” The “Sport” line introduced the first patented fountain pen to come with a cap, making it easy for traveling in briefcases, pockets and purses.
The company, which has a large following among pen buffs, continues to grow their catalogue of sturdy, long-lasting writing utensils that are anything but disposable.
