Zinc and steel bottle opener and corker with protective case. Removes – and reinserts – even the most delicate wine corks with a two-prong design. Bottle cap opener built into handle. Made in a German foundry established in 1879. (
This corker is ideal for opening up that bottle of bubbly or vintage red that you’ve been saving just waiting for the right occasion. The two steel prongs cradle the cork and pulls it out in one piece so that your libations are free of crumbs and detritus. The zinc handle also doubles as a bottle cap opener, for those days that you want to kick back with your favorite beer.
Place the longer prong between the cork and the bottleneck. Apply a downward twisting movement until the other prong is inserted and the top of the bottle touches the handle of the corker. Turn and pull simultaneously to remove the cork from the bottle. You may re-cork the bottle by pushing the cork back in, however, this does not extrude excess air and will not contribute to preserving the wine in any way.
Wipe the corker after every use and store in its protective case.
The steel prongs are treated with a food-safe lubricant. Condition your corker with a drop of food-safe oil periodically.
This heavy-duty steel and zinc corker was made by a steel producer, which set up its first factory in Germany in 1879. All the die-casting and assembly takes place in a small foundry in Marburg, Germany.
