Solid walnut menorah in a contemporary, streamlined design. Bronze candle holders. Designed by architects and made by craftsman in Los Angeles. (
The sleek and simple aesthetic of this menorah allows the candles and their light to shine. When architect Rod Radziner came up short on his search for a modern, well-designed menorah that suited his contemporary aesthetic, he decided to create his own. In this menorah, the shamash (the extra or “attendant” light, which stands at a higher point than the other candle) is placed at the far edge of the menorah.
The base is handcrafted from solid walnut wood, which is protected and finished with mineral oil. The bronze candle holders are removable so that candle wax and debris may easily be cleaned.
Clean with soft cloth or hand rinse. Be sure to dry thoroughly after each use. You may occasionally rub with food-grade mineral oil. Store in a cool, dry area away from extreme temperatures. Candle holders are removable for easy cleaning. Do not leave burning candles unattended.
Los Angeles-based architectural firm Marmol Radziner follows in the tradition of California modernists such as John Lautner and Pierre Koenig, who worked to bring people closer to nature through sustainable building and landscaping. Their work has been recognized by the American Institute of Architects. Principal designer Ron Radziner drafted some minimal, modern designs for jewelry and homegoods, then asked metal craftsmen that the architectural firm works with on full-scale building details and furniture to handcraft rings, bracelets, earrings and pendants from bronze.
