Award-winning Japanese architect and product designer Makoto Koizumi has designed items both large and small, from tiny wooden spoons to homes and offices. In 2003, his product catalog became extensive enough to warrant opening his own store in Kunitachi, a suburb west of Tokyo. Koizumi’s enamel coated steel and maple handled tea kettle won the coveted Good Design Award in Japan in 2006.
