Vegetable-tanned leather sheath made specially to fit our Gene Wiseman pocket knife. Hand-dyed, glazed and treated with harness oil for suppleness. Brass button stud fastener. Available with or without belt loop. (
Our knife sheath was made exclusively for us in a New York workshop to fit our Gene Wiseman pocket knife, or knives measuring up to 3 ½ inches long and ¾ inches wide. The optional belt loop fits belts up to 1 ¼ inches.
To create the knife sheath, vegetable-tanned leather is dyed, finished and waxed by hand. The sheath is then treated with harness oil to create a soft, supple texture that moves with you, should you choose to wear it on your belt. A hand-hammered solid brass button stud fastener keeps your knife securely within the sheath. It’s handsewn with burnished nylon thread for extra durability.
Care for the leather by conditioning periodically with neatsfoot oil or our Beeswax Leather Conditioner. Keep away from moisture and direct sunlight to prevent cracking.
An intrepid traveler, Andrew McAteer found that the bags, carriers and other leather accessories on the market didn't properly suit his on-the-go gear requirements, so he began to design and make his own goods. Working out of a small workshop in Astoria, New York, Andrew creates products that he needs and, by extension, that others might also hopefully find useful.
