Stainless steel scissors for a multitude of household tasks. Micro-serrated, curved blade cuts through tough materials. Lower loop with finger notch for secure, slip-free handling. Upper scissor blade features bottle opener. Made in England. (
These stainless steel scissors come equipped for almost any household need, yet their design remains streamlined. The curved, micro-serrated blades provide extra leverage, which is useful for deboning chicken, cutting pizza or breaking down a cardboard box. The upper blade includes a handy integrated bottle opener, as well as a bone notch for holding down the bone and decreasing dangerous slipping and sliding while cutting meats.
The finger loops are designed to provide a safe, secure grip: A smaller upper loop fits your thumb, while a wide notch on the lower loop makes sure that your index and middle fingers don’t slip during cutting. The back of the lower finger loop has a small notch for lifting up the lid of a can, as well as a larger notch on the side for hammering the lid back shut again. The serrated area between the two handles is meant for crushing nuts or garlic gloves.
These all-metal scissors are manufactured in a process with over 24 steps and hot-forged at temperatures of over 2100 °F (1150 °C).
If the scissors require sharpening, bring them to a skilled craftsman; incorrect sharpening can damage the product.
Founded in 1760 in Sheffield, England, a city renowned for being one of the world’s most respected steel works centers, the company that designs and produces these garden pruners is recognized as the oldest recorded manufacturer of scissors. It has remained a family-run operation for eleven generations. Sheffield was once home to a robust scissors trade with more than 20 manufacturers; this business is one of the few still in production.
The company was awarded prize medals at The Great Exhibition in London’s Crystal Palace in 1851 and the Paris International Exhibition in 1855. While proud of its storied past, the company continues to look to the future, with continual upgrades to machinery and technology, including new laser engraving and cutting systems.
