Kitchen preparation and tableside presentation converge in this dual-purpose cutting and serving board. Foods can be cut directly on the hardwood with a well-sharpened blade like Windmuehlen's Carbon Steel Chef's Knife (seen above). Once the dicing is done, you can easily tranport the lightweight board to the table using the clever thumb cutouts. If the board is kept oiled and cared for properly, it can last a lifetime.

Industrial designer Magnus Lundstrom, initially designed these boards for his wife, who found the heavy butcher boards in their home too hefty. This lightweight version features rounded edges for handling comfort, as well as a thumb cutout that can be used to safely carry the board, or hang up on a hook in the kitchen for storage.

Use & Care

Hand wash only. Never place in dishwater. After washing, store upright so that water is not trapped beneath the board.

To remove smells and stains, rub the wood with lemon and coarse sea salt.

To protect from water and cracking, and to prolong the life of the board, rub frequently with mineral oil, walnut oil or butcher block oil. Apply oil onto board and leave for one hour, then wipe off excess with a dry cloth or paper towel.

The board arrives oiled and ready to use.

Production & Design

Swedish-born Magnus Lundstrom has a background in engineering and industrial design. He moved to the United States when he met his now-wife Anki, a Swedish textile designer based in New York. Together, the pair operates a shop of home goods on 11th Street in New York City, selling her textiles, his cutting boards and other housewares that are meant to last.
