Bucket bag in supple and durable goatskin leather. Lined with soft, long-lasting pigskin and calfskin. Polished brass zip top for secure storage of belongings. Interior zippered compartment and pocket slot for phone. Made in Japan. (
The timeless silhouette and durable material of this goatskin leather bucket bag will go with you everywhere for years to come. Handmade from soft goatskin leather, it is perfectly proportioned to your body, and the streamlined single handle maintains the shape of the bag. During the leather tanning process, the goatskin is tightened and shrunken—which creates a supple surface, while the hide becomes denser and more durable. The interior pigskin lining lasts longer than typical fabric inserts, and feels butter soft on your hands as you reach in for your lip balm or keys. An interior zipper pocket helps to organize smaller items, while the solid brass zippered top keeps all your belongings secure within the bag.
The design of this goatskin leather bucket bag—elegant and understated—was inspired by French writer and style icon Françoise Sagan, who published her first book in 1954, as a teenager. Titled Bonjour Tristesse, the work shocked literary audiences at the time with forthright language and risqué subject matter. Sagan went on to have a long career as a playwright and novelist, and was well known for having a sophisticated tom-boy style.
Although the leather has been treated with a light, water-resistant coating, always take care to keep the bag away from liquids and direct sunlight in order to prevent the surface from drying out and cracking. If the bag becomes wet, pat dry immediately with a soft cloth and dry away from the sun. Over time and with use, the shine of the leather will become subtler as the color deepens.
A mild, clear leather cream may be applied over the entire surface of the wallet with a soft brush in order to replenish the moisture. Application with a toothbrush can help to reach all the nooks and crannies of the leather. Use only a clear cream as a black cream will discolor the leather.
